If you’re serious about playing poker, then you’re always looking for ways to improve your game. Using poker tools is a great way to upgrade your skills in a fun and educational way. Tools for playing poker are mostly for online players and these tools are generally downloadable applications that act as virtual assistants -- suggesting moves, analyzing hands and opponents and preventing errors. While some purists feel that tools for playing online poker give players an unfair advantage, the fact is that if you’re not using tools for poker, you aren’t playing at the level of most other players.

Without getting into a discussion of the ethical aspects of using playing tools for online poker, it seems as though these tools are morphing the game of online poker into some sort of tech-competition, rather than the game of skill and luck it’s supposed to be. Because they can track all the plays made in a game and keep stats on everyone you play against, poker playing tools give you and edge that others don’t have. The most advanced tools for online poker have built-in odds calculators for both betting and dealing. For example, if you need a certain card to complete a straight, the poker tools for online play will give you the odds of that happening so you can adjust your play and betting accordingly.

While a lot of people complain about the unfairness of playing online poker tools, these software applications are great learning tools for beginners. No longer does it take weeks, months and maybe even years to accumulate a store of poker playing experience. Online poker tools are like taking a shortcut, like having an expert right there coaching you. And if everybody else in the game is using some sort of software to assist them when playing online poker, why shouldn’t you? You even can subscribe to online services that keep stats on as many as 3.5 million players.

Online poker tools are here to stay. They’ve altered the face of online poker, evolving the game into one in which technology is a silent player.
